"I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could. My date and I were paying customers who opened a tab, but our night was completely ruined by an absolutely unhinged, unprofessional bartender. I accidentally spilled a small amount of beer by the pool table and immediately, politely asked for help to clean it up. Instead of doing her job, the female bartender—a heavily tattooed brunette with a larger build—completely lost her mind. She aggressively got right in my face and launched into a screaming, explosive, expletive-laced tirade, dropping F-bombs in front of my date and a room full of patrons. She made a massive, embarrassing scene over a routine accidental spill. While other staff members eventually backed her off and apologized for her behavior, the damage was done. Management did absolutely nothing to fix this, charging us full price for drinks and a night that she completely ruined with her sailor-mouth hostility. If ownership allows staff members this unstable and hostile to represent their business and attack paying customers, they do not deserve your money. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want your night ruined by a hostile, aggressive staff that cusses at customers."

"Jennifer is a really friendly bartender. It was busy on the 4th of July, And they preferred cash over tap and pay which took more time. The man with the sunglasses... The other bartender... Thought I was a lightweight. But actually, I had come from far away and didn't have time for dinner. My total consumption was only 3 Millers for the whole evening... Not much for somebody. 6 ft. Tall 180 lb! There was food everywhere nearby and I would just stumble out to get some. I wasn't driving... I took an Uber from far away. Maybe if he had a conversation, he would be able to hear if the person was merely hungry and tired but sober 🆚 had too much. Really, It was my cash purchases with $2 tips that they liked... The digital $2 tips didn't seem to mean much! Then the Lady said that it was a $50 minimum for a tab if I wanted to run one. I didn't feel like I was at one of the pubs on Polk Street that have closed down recently...like McTeauges. It did not feel like McMullens in Las Vegas! Or the Irish pubs of Mexico City. Those are places where they will make you something to eat very quickly... Irish breakfast. Corned beef hash. They'll make you something hot to drink that will wake you with caffeine. This is simply not a real Irish Pub!!! I left and had a slice of pizza and I went to the pub around the corner! No problem with today's digital payments there!"

"This is a FABulous, family-owned and operated bar, that absolutely DOES TAKE CREDIT CARDS, despite many reviews (connected to prior owners 🤔 ) saying they don't. We were there for Thanksgiving…which was open to all…and Sully was working non-stop behind the bar! His wife turned the pool table into a Thanksgiving day spread that could have competed with grandma's dinner! The owners will be familiar to fans of The Philosophers’ Club in West Portal. All were invited to a California-style holiday, where you could bring the family you chose to spend the day with, while making new friends if you were interested in doing that. The Thanksgiving dream…No shopping, cooking or cleaning up. And amazingly, they didn't even charge visitors for the meal! We brought some Costco pies….inexpensive, delicious, no fuss, and they were devoured! Everything was wonderful! Another guest brought an addictive, spicy, NOLA influenced oyster stuffing that we must come back for next year! OMG I don't know if there's any food normally, but we were very lucky to have discovered this bar, any day of the year! And with Sully and his wife's decades in this business, they've created a very friendly, but also extremely professional , local neighborhood bar. They've also lined the walls with great, music-themed photos and Bay Area concert posters that add to the vibe! And while their Irish coffee is as good or better than as The Buena Vista…dare I say it…the price is much more palatable!"
